JAGRUT MUMBAIKAR – Citizen Awareness Programme by Mumbai Police
An initiative started in the background of terrorist attack on Mumbai dated 26/11/2008 by the Mumbai Police to help fight terrorism, for which they have launched a campaign called ‘Jagrut Mumbaikar’ for making the public aware and alert about certain aspects of safety and security. The Security Branch of Mumbai Police has been asked to carry out this campaign.
The programs are being conducted in Housing Societies, Government Offices, Schools/Colleges, Malls/Multiplexes, and Hospitals etc. where a Power Point Presentation about the basic awareness of safety and security of Mumbai city and advisory about dos and don’ts for the citizens is explained in the program which is about sixty minutes of duration. Presently two teams comprising of four officers and four men each under the guidance of DCP Pradip Sawant (Security) Mumbai are conducting the programs throughout Mumbai city.
